Growing to Meet the Needs of Your Healthcare Community
As part of our ongoing investment in the community, Harton Regional Medical Center is excited about the development of our new 59,000 square foot patient tower. Our new expansion will furnish our patients with private rooms, equip our physicians with more operating space and greater resources, and provide our community with the best medical care in the region- right here, close to home. The project is scheduled for completion in July of 2009. This is truly an exciting time for all of us as we make a substantial investment in our future of delivering high qulaity healthcare to the community we serve.
Some of the highlights of the expansion include:
- The ground floor will contain a new reception area and entryway to the hospital, which will serve to streamline visits and admissions. A new gift shop will also be built on the tower's ground floor.
- The first floor will contain space to eventually expand HRMC's surgery services with the addition of two new Operating Rooms, supported by additional Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACUs).
- On the second floor, all semi-private rooms will be converted into private rooms. Unless an emergency occurs requiring patients to double up, every room in the hospital will now be a private room. Having one bed per room will enhance patient comfort and ensure patient privacy, an important conern in healthcare today.
- The third floor will be "shelled in" to accomodate another 29 beds that will be added in the near future.
